A Walk into the other side of Love

This week I am going to introduce my new story for Lesbian Limbo. Try to imagine if you will the way the world must have been in the 1800s for a gay or lesbian person. I tried to think about how they would meet each other, how they would try to deal with other peoples views them. This look back is totally fiction. The story of Grace & Gabriel, “A Walk Into the Other Side of Love.”
The year was 1871, I was just turning 20. My name is Grace Swell. My only sibling is my brother Gabriel, he’s 19. Our mother died right after Gabriel was born. Our father thought Mother died during child birth but right after she passed away my father realized she had been bitten by a poisonous spider.
Our father passed away in the month April of 1874, right before spring from pneumonia, which he’d been fighting all winter. The sad part about our father dying was not so much his death. It was the fear of the unknown. My brother and I had no idea what we were going to do with our lives. Neither of us liked the farm life so we decided to sell the farm. We moved into the city where we bought a very beautiful Victorian house.

One day after we’d gotten settled into the new house I started thinking back to our childhood. I remembered how Gabriel and I would make up plays. My brother always wanted to be the woman. I always wanted to be the man. The first play we ever wrote made my father so mad at my brother and I. Gabriel loved to wear our Mothers clothing. It was then that I realized that my brother and I were different from other people. Our father beat Gabriel for wearing the dress. Gabriel and I both didn’t understand why. Gabriel used to pretend that he had a husband. Our plays were just the first part of my realizing that we both were gay. It was not until 1876, that my brother met his lover Jessie.

Next week I will continue into “A Walk into the Other Side of Love.” This has been Stacey with your Lesbian Limbo. I can be reached at L8dyvenus@aol.com Thanks for reading. Have a great week.——————————————-

Part 2 of Grace & Gabriel

“A Walk into the Other Side of Love”

Before I tell you the how Gabriel met Jessie, I would like to tell you my story. Jessie, however will be part of my story too.

It was a Sunday afternoon in the middle of fall. We were shopping at the market when I noticed this amazing looking woman. I hadn’t seen her in town before. She had the most breathtaking features I had ever seen on a woman. Her eyes were a shade of green similar to that of emeralds. She was wearing a dark green dress that was down around her shoulders. I was starting to imagine her lips against mine. Then I wondered about the smell of her hair. I stood there gazing at her when Gabriel knocked me back into reality, by slapping me on the back of my head. The noise of me turning around and punching him in the arm must have made her notice me watching her. My face immediately turned beat red. Gabriel laughed so hard at me that root beer came flying out of his nose. All I could do was laugh as well. I kept watching her; she smiled at me and winked. This made me weak in the knees. I suddenly noticed a man looking my way giving me a very unpleasant glare. I figured this was more than likely her husband. She put her arm in his then disappeared out the door. Gabriel looked at me and said, “I wonder if she has a brother?”

My disappointment shortly disappeared though when Sam (the owner of the store) handed me a note. I was a bit confused, the note said, “If you like what you see met me this evening outside of the saloon at eight o’clock.” I asked Sam if he had given the note to the right person. He laughed, “Of course, madam, Ms. Jaden told me to specifically give the note to you.” I handed the note to Gabriel. He was as shocked as I. My heart practically jumped out of my chest. In all my life, I never dreamed that I would or even could possibly be meeting a woman like me. Oh, how I hoped this just wasn’t my imagination running away with me. Could it be that in some possible way this woman liked women too.

As Gabriel and I walked home groceries in hand, we were both speechless. As kids we would both talk about how I liked women and how he liked men but we never thought either of us would meet someone who felt the same way. Was it about to happen for me? My fears of rejection were starting to get the best of me. Gabriel could sense something was wrong. “Big sister, let’s go to the tailor and get you a new suit. I have some money saved and I want to give it to you for this very special occasion.” Gabriel always knew how to cheer me up. I however, wasn’t sure if I should go wearing a suit. Gabriel insisted that I was to going to wear a suit that nothing else would do. So I agreed. I ended up letting Gabriel buy me a navy blue suit with a baby blue shirt underneath the jacket. I would have to say I looked pretty darn great.

I spent the rest of day wondering if Jaden was seriously interested in me. What if it was nothing at all? My biggest fear was that she was actually interested in Gabriel. Which to her surprise would be short lived especially since she wasn’t Gabriel’s type.

Next week Grace meets Jaden. Will she be right; is Jaden there just to ask her about her brother? Come back next week to read more of the Story of Grace & Gabriel “A Walk Into the Other Side of Love.” Thanks for reading. Take care Stacey

Part 3 Grace & Gabriel
“A Walk Into the Other Side of Love”

When evening arrived, I had Gabriel help me with the finally touches of looking my best for Jaden. Even if she wasn’t coming there with intentions of getting to know me at least she would see I was a great dresser. At least that’s what I thought to myself as Gabriel helped me get my jacket on. We headed out the door together not saying much to each other. I think we both were too afraid of all of this being just a dream. I was having Gabriel follow me to the saloon, you just never knew in these times if someone was out to harm you just for being different.
I spent 20 minutes or so standing outside the saloon pacing back and forth. People looks at me weren’t making me anymore at ease. After a few passing looks of disgust I started smiling back at them tipping my hat and praying no one would start any shit with me. Finally though I saw a carriage coming threw the middle of town. I got butterflies in my stomach hoping that this was finally Jaden.
I wasn’t sure if I should run over and open the carriage door for her or if I should just stand there continuing to look stupid. I looked over at Gabriel who was still standing across the street. He must have know my thoughts for he motioned me to go open the door to let her out. Talk about intimidation Jaden was stunning I put my hand out to help her out. At first she didn’t realize it was me. But when she did she grabbed my hand even tighter.

“Well, hello there this is such a nice surprise!” She laughed, “I never imagined my goodness that I would be so taken aback. You look so handsome. That shade of blue looks very nice on you,” she took a huge sigh then continued. “I am so pleased that dressed so nice for our first engagement together. I’ve always loved the color blue, but with my eyes being so green, blue just never has looked good on me. Oh, look at me just babbling on, I am being so rude. You know my name but I haven’t had the pleasure of knowing yours.”

I stood there dumbfounded as we walked toward the saloon. Still holding Jaden’s hand. I looked at her like she should already know my name my name.
“Yes, my dear. I would like to be able to know the name of the woman who’s courting me for the evening.” Jaden smiled at me with this perfect glow about her.
“I am so sorry,” as those words came out of my mouth nothing else did. Jaden looked as if she had just gotten the worst news of her life. I’d realized that I hadn’t finished my thought when I blurted out “It’s Grace.”
“Grace, you had me scared there for a moment. Even though your dressed with, how I thought you realized from my note that this was a …” Jaden wasn’t sure how to just come out and say ‘I thought you realized I am interested in you.
I started laughing. “My brother and I both thought you might be interested in him. We honestly never thought that either of us would meet that special someone. Thank the heavens that your not.”
We continued the rest of our engagement sitting in the saloon talking. Certain men tried their best to get Jaden’s attention but she had nothing to do with their haggling her. Gabriel kept his eye on me until the night was over. I walked Jaden back to her carriage. I didn’t want our night to end. She invited me back to her house for a night cap. I declined only for the reason that I just was still in total denial that this woman was interesting in me also cause I wanted to tell Gabriel all about my night. We planned another engagement the following week at her home. She told me to bring Gabriel. I’d have to say this was the beginning, life was going to be so much more than I ever could have dreamed.

Thanks for reading part 3 of Grace & Gabriel. I hope your enjoying my story of love in the 1800s. Take care and have a great week.

Grace and Gabriel part 4
It had been a few weeks since their meeting at the saloon. Even though Grace was going to meet Jaden at her home, Grace had received a message from Sam the store owner. Jaden told Sam discreetly to tell Grace that she’d be going out of town for a few days. A few days though turned into a few weeks, then a few months, then it was a year.Over that time Grace did her best to not think of Jaden. She turned into a workaholic. Gabriel kept asking around about Jaden. It was a day in September just a few weeks before it was officially a year. Gabriel was talking to Sam the store owner he’d asked Gabriel if he’d heard that Jaden had gotten married. Jaden’s brother was coming to town to get the house ready for his sister’s arrival.Gabriel did his best to keep this information from Grace. During a trip to town Grace saw Jaden arm and arm with a man a few years older than her. Grace didn’t know what to think. She’s seen this man once before with her but thought nothing of it. Of course, this was before their one and only “date”. “Jaden is that you!” Grace was totally shocked to see Jaden. After a year of not seeing each other then there she was.”Grace it’s so nice to see you. I’d like you to meet my husband, William.” Jaden was just so nonchalant about this information.

“Your husband?” Nothing more could be said. Except, “It’s nice to meet you! I should go my brother is waiting for me.” although Gabriel wasn’t waiting on her. Jaden didn’t know this.

All this was such a nightmare. Running home to tell Gabriel, through the dark she ran into a tree knocking herself unconscience. Grace woke up in a hospital room. Gabriel was sitting beside her holding her hand. A man she didn’t recognize was standing at the foot of the bed. Grace thought maybe this was her doctor.

“Gabriel,” Grace felt nauseous. “Gabriel, I saw Jaden…She’s married. I meet her husband. Can you believe this?”

“Grace this is Jessie, Jaden’s brother. Jaden had her brother come over to the house to see if you were okay. When I told Jessie that you hadn’t made it home yet we went looking for you. Jessie and I found you lying about a mile from the house. You’ve got a nice knot on your head and your eye is a little black. You had me so worried.”

“Jessie could you leave us alone for a minute?” Jessie left them alone. Gabriel watched Jessie leave the room and semi sorta smiled at Jaden.

Grace rolled her eyes at her brother. “How could you even look at him like that. Especially since he is Jaden’s brother!”

“Grace, I knew about Jaden being married. I was asking Sam one day at the store about her and that’s when he told me that she had gotten married. I am so sorry now that I didn’t tell you. Please forgive me. I knew how much you really liked her.” Gabriel knew that he was in the wrong but also knew his sister would smile and life would go on. “So what do you think about Jessie?” they both laughed. Some things never changed. Grace could nothing but continue shaking her head.

“Grace and Gabriel”
part 5
Although it had now been a few weeks since Grace thought she could run threw trees she still couldn’t believe that Jaden had gotten married. Of course, now Gabriel had met at new friend out of the ordeal. Gabriel and Jessie had become quite inseparable. In fact, Grace hardly saw her brother at all these days. Grace was now left alone in their big Victorian home. Being alone gave her an idea one afternoon to start getting some of her questions answered about why it was that Jaden had gotten married.

Now most of us would have already confronted Jaden about this situation. Grace although was too embarrassed by the running into the tree incident, plus Jessie surely more than likely told his sister the whole story.

Grace decided that since Gabriel had become so fond of Jessie that she could use this to her advantage. She made herself a third wheel whenever possible. She’d throw in a question here or there trying to be inconspicuous. One day during her investigating she finally discover the truth about Jaden’s marriage to William.

William was a big wig in a bigger city about a two day carriage ride from town. Both Jaden and William’s families were both big into politics. Grace learned that before Jaden’s father died was in debt to William’s family. Jaden’s father on his death bed asked his daughter to marry William. This was to help keep the entire family from living the rest of their lives penniless thus erasing the entire debt for the family.

Learning this new information helped Grace to understand that Jaden didn’t marry William for love it was to save her family. Oh, the questions started flowing threw Grace’s mind. What could she do to get closer to Jaden again? How could she get Gabriel to help her? Would Jessie help as well or did he even know of his sisters secret desire to be with Grace?

First things first she would get a plan of action going. Getting to know more about Jaden through Jessie did help but it wasn’t enough. Grace knew that Gabriel wouldn’t help he’d be too afraid of loosing this imaginary romance that he had going on with Jessie.

If Grace had a dinner party and invited Jaden and William. She could have Gabriel invite Jessie. All she would have to do is get herself a “fake” lover for the evening. Then she could possibly get Jaden alone.

Come back next week to see if Jaden does have any feelings for Grace or if this marriage is actually “real” love. Thanks for reading. Take care all. I can be reached at L8dyvenus@aol.com

—————————————————-Part 6 “Grace & Gabriel”
It was now the night of the dinner party; Grace got a “fake” companion for the night. She met him while riding home from the next town. His name was Henry. Grace was sure that Jaden would be in total shock seeing her with a man. Of course, Grace herself wasn’t exactly sure how Henry’s part was yet to play out. She would have to just take it one moment at a time. If only Gabriel could get his head cleared, he could help her on finding the truth about how Jaden really felt about William.
Everyone began arriving; this was the first time that Grace had seen Jaden since she’d meet her ‘husband‘. Jaden was just as beautiful as the first day she’d seen her at Sam’s. Tonight Jaden wore an exquisite gown that was a shade of green and blue. Grace secretly thought to herself, “I wonder, does she do these things just to torture me?”
Dinner went rather well. The conversations were to Grace, all pointless. All she really wanted was to get alone with Jaden and find out if she still had any feelings for her. For the first time in months Gabriel thought of someone other than himself and suggested that the men go into the study for some brandy and cigars. This left Jaden and Grace finally alone.

“Grace, I bet your full of questions. I know that you’ve probably felt a lot of confusion since I introduced you to William.”

“You could definitely say that! You couldn’t even come to me and tell me this information yourself. Was it that much more satisfying for you to just surprise me that day? I have been hurting now for a year and I’m not even sure why, I don’t know if the feelings I have for you are even mutual or if I am just imagining the way you make me feel; and that you feel the same way too. I wanted you to know that each time your eyes meet mine. All I wanted to do is run away with you. Well…?”

Grace had never been as aggressive as she felt just then and with everything inside her soul she just reached out grabbed Jaden. Taking her around her waist pulling her close enough that their lips melted together. Grace could feel a fire igniting her entire body. Jaden did all she could not to pull away, but in her mind she feared someone catching them. Grace felt at the moment that the feelings could be mutual.

“Grace,” Jaden was now trying keep her heart from jumping out of her chest. “I want this so much; but Grace, darling I just can’t. I made a commitment to my family and to William. If there were something that could be done don’t you think I would do it?”

“Jaden, I won’t give up on the idea of us. I just can’t. If I were a man this would all be so much easier. I could have married you the day we met. Do you think there ever be a day when two women can be lovers and not be condemned for it? Jaden, are you in love with William or are you just with him because of the commitment you’ve made?”

“It’s just for the commitment. Grace, I haven’t even had intercourse with him! He’s tried, but thank goodness men don’t realize that we only have our periods for just one week. At least my faking the cramps, too, has gotten him to sleep in another room. Grace, don’t you understand that I wanted to come back here to stay? I know this is very selfish of me, but I thought if I were closer to you that it could help me withstand this whole marriage thing. But Grace, seeing you tonight and this amazing kiss we just shared, I have to admit that I don’t know what to do.”

It was at that moment that Henry, Grace’s “fake” companion, was noticed standing in the doorway.

“Well, ladies, this puts me in a very awkward situation!” Jaden, seeing Henry standing there, ran out of the room. “Great,” Grace thought, “just when we were finally getting somewhere.”

“Henry how long have you been standing there?” Grace wasn’t sure of what to do or say.

“Long enough, Grace, I think I can help. But, you should think about it first. For what I am about to offer isn’t something that should be repeated. There are things that I can do to help you…” Henry seemed genuine about his offer, but all Grace knew was that Jaden would be more on guard with herself now that their secret had been discovered.

Next week, what does Henry have to offer Grace? Will this be a turning point in Grace and Jaden’s relationship or will this be an ending? Come back next week to see. Thanks for reading “Grace & Gabriel” Have a great week! I can be reached at L8dyvenus@aol.com

Part 7 “Grace & Gabriel”With the dinner party coming to an end, Grace said her good nights to everyone but Henry. She had him stick around to talk about how exactly he could help her get William and Jaden to divorce. Well, Henry’s idea was much more severe than just divorce. His plan involved William to never be heard from again.

Henry was into buying real estate and getting other rich clients involved in the deals as well. So Henry suggested that he get William involved in a few of his property deals; which, in the next few weeks, he was going to be purchasing a substantial amount of acres. He would get William to invest in them, and then what Henry does is builds homes on the properties, and then resells them at a profit. Jaden had told Grace how money hungry William is; so to Grace this seemed liked a pretty great idea so far.”Ok,” Grace was thinking. “How does this get me and Jaden together?” Grace didn’t understand exactly how this was going to get ‘rid’ of William.

Henry couldn’t explain the entire plan to Grace. All he could say was, “All in due time. Just let the plan be sat into motion.”

About a month has now gone by, Grace hasn’t heard from Henry and hasn’t seen Jaden anywhere in town. Grace was so afraid that Henry betrayed her and told William what he saw happen the night of the dinner party. But, Gabriel would have surely told her. Gabriel was still doing his best to hook up with Jessie. Gabriel is so like his sister.

It was a Thursday afternoon when Grace got a ring at her door. It was a delivery boy bringing a letter from Henry. It said: “Grace the plan is in motion … “W” is buying some of the property with me and now has also decided to help finance the building of a new house on the property. The next part of the plan will be disclosed to you in about a month. Keep the faith. You and your love will be reunited soon. Take care, Henry.”

Grace kept wondering to herself whether she should tell Jaden what was going on. But, she decided to keep the plan to herself, not even telling Gabriel. So for one more month she’d just have to act normal, or as normal as a lesbian could be in the late 1800’s.

What does Henry have in mind to help Grace and Jaden be together? Will his plan work? Or will William catch on that someone in his life trying to betray him? Come back next week to see what is revealed. Take care as always Stacey L8dyvenus@aol.com

Part 8 Grace & GabrielFor the next month Grace did everything she could not to go looking for Jaden. Instead, Jaden came looking for her. Jaden came knocking on Grace’s door on a beautiful sunny afternoon almost a week before the month was over, before Henry would disclose his plan get them together.

“Grace, I just couldn’t stay away any longer. I have hoped I would have seen you around town, but William has me helping the maids get rid of some of our older decor and were redoing the entire house. Anyway…I told William that I wanted to stop for the day and come visit you. So here I am. I couldn’t put this off any longer. Grace, I love you so much and at the dinner party when we kissed you reached inside my very soul. There is no way I can take another day of pretending to be the wife of a man I don’t even love.” Jaden began to cry and laugh at the same time. “Grace, what are we going to do?”

“I have been avoiding going to town for fear that you wouldn’t have anything to do with me. I was so scared that you would never want to see me again. I asked Jessie how you’ve been but he and Gabriel both don’t ever say much.”

“Yes, Jessie has never been one to talk to girls very much. If I didn’t know better I’d think that Jessie was more than likely gay too. Of course, how could you ever talk to your bother about those things?” as Jaden said that she smiled to herself, thinking Gabriel and I are like that. Before she could stop herself from just saying it in her head and not saying it out loud the words came spewing out, “Gabriel would be pleased to hear that!”

“Grace what did you say?” Jaden’s eyes were about to pop out of her head. “Gabriel likes men?”

“Oh my, I didn’t realize my words, were spoken out loud! Please, don’t say anything to Jessie. Especially if you and Jessie don’t talk about things like Gabriel and I do. I guess to me it’s totally obvious that Gabriel is gay. But, then again he is my brother and I know him better then he probably knows himself. Jessie though I had no clue that he might be gay.” Grace totally forgetting that Jaden and her were trying to get things figured out in their own relationship, got side tracked on her brother.

“Jaden what if we were to get the two of them together. Wouldn’t that be something if you and I were a couple and Gabriel and Jessie were a couple too.” the wheels were spinning inside of Grace’s head.

“Grace, honey I have come here today to tell you how much I love YOU don’t you think we are getting ahead of ourselves here. You and I can’t be a couple. I am already married.” Grace realized that her thinking out loud only cause Jaden to get upset.

“Jaden I am sorry. I guess I was just dreaming out loud. Gabriel and I used to talk about how when we or if we’d met someone that we could only hope that the two of us would both have someone and look how this would be so perfect. The four of us together no one would suspect a thing. I mean look now at how much Gabriel and Jessie already hang out together. Your right Jaden, I am so sorry. Look I do have something I need to tell you. But I am not quite sure how to say it. Remember how Henry caught us together kissing?” “Yes, how could I have forgotten that?”

“Well, after you left the room he told me he could help us to be together. I have to admit that I was very leery of this plan of his but I think it’s going to work. It’s going to take some time but really all I have is time. I have waited my whole life for love and now I have found you. I don’t want to lose you Jaden.” it was this time that Jaden reached out to Grace swooping her up into her. Their bodies both pressing together ignited out of control. The two lovers headed to Grace’s bedroom for the first time their desires for one another were finally released. If it wasn’t for the carnival coming into town right at the very moment Jaden climaxed the whole town would have known about their affair. Both started laughing and out loud they both said, “Thank God for the Carnies and their loud carnival music.”

With their relationship being finally brought to the bedroom Grace and Jaden now have decided their love is all that matters. Next week though could Henry’s plan just be a huge betrayal that William will discover come back and check it out. This has been Stacey with your Lesbian Limbo and the story of Grace & Gabriel. Have a great week. As always you can reach me at L8dyvenus@aol.com

Part 9 Grace & Gabriel

It was so hard to see Jaden leave after spending the afternoon together making love. Nonetheless, Jaden had to get back to William so he wouldn’t be suspicious.

Grace would spend the next few days waiting for Henry to stop by with details of how his plan to get rid of William. Grace still couldn’t help wondering if Jaden and herself were going to be betrayed by Henry. Something about him just wasn’t sitting well. Fortune for Grace, Henry stopped by a few days after Jaden had been by. In fact, he was about four days earlier then expected.

Henry invited himself in and started disguising the plan to rid the women of William. He told her that with William buying the new property with him and them remodeling the house on the property, that all they would have to do is kill him and their problems would be solved.

Although, this seemed insane to Grace. Bizarre that Henry had thought of nothing more than just killing William. She didn’t want for it to go that far. She just wanted Jaden and herself to be able to have a relationship together without their being a husband in the way. Hell, at this rate she wondered if she just shouldn’t go to William and ask him herself just to divorce Jaden. That make more since to her than this stupid plan Henry wasted a month coming up with.

Henry could see that Grace wasn’t too keen on his idea. He knew that he would have to let her in on more of the details. But this just wasn’t such a good idea.

“Look Grace, I’d really rather not disclose too much of the details. I knew I said I would, but to be honest with you, if you knew everything about the plan you’d be doing nothing but putting yourself into harms way.”

Grace sat there thinking, yes this is true. Plus what if Jaden were to know that she was going to be a part of killing her husband. Even though Jaden didn’t love her husband it wouldn’t make for a successful relationship knowing the woman you love killed someone.

“Ok, Henry just let me know what it is that I need to do. But how do I know that I can trust you. Yes, I know that you’ve kept Jaden’s and my secret but what if you decide that you want more out of this deal.”

“Ok, Grace this is true. You know nothing about me except that I am a gigolo that you picked up on the street to help you have a pretend date for the evening one night a month ago. All I can do is tell you that you can trust. I haven’t betrayed you so far.”

Grace knew this was true and all that she had to go on. Henry told her that he would be by in a few days that the plan was nearly ready.

In the meantime though Jaden couldn’t get the Grace out of her head. William was becoming more and more in need of wanting to be intimate with her and she was running out of excuses to not let that happen. She finally got an idea. She went into town to the tavern and asked the bar keep if she could possibly buy one of the whores for a few hours. The bar keep was very concerned. He told her that this wasn’t possible for a woman to buy a whore. She explained to him that it was for her husband. She told him that she’d been in an accident and wasn’t able to satisfy her husband sexually. But her husband didn’t want to hurt her feelings by sleeping with another woman. This actually convinced the bar keep for a extra $5 she could take the whore for the entire night.

Jaden on the way home told the whore a huge lie about how she wasn’t able to have sex with her husband. She told the whore whose name was Natasha to just pretend to be his wife that she’d be in the room to talk if her husband was to say anything. The plan would have to work she just couldn’t imagine really having sex with William at all. Of course, the one thing that Jaden didn’t think about was what if William might be able to tell that this wasn’t her especially since Natasha wouldn’t be a virgin and then what would happen if William could tell. Damn this plan was going to have to work. Hopefully if it did William would get off her back about sex.
